Michael Cleary has over 26 years consulting experience, the last 12 of which have been focused heavily on Financial Services. Most of this work has been concentrated on helping clients devise and implement sustainable, large scale Cost Reduction and Operations Improvement programs.  Recent examples:

• Drove 19% ($190 MM) cost reduction for leading life insurer
• Led merger integration program office to achieve $350 MM in cost reduction; in parallel was directly responsible for delivering overhead
  cost reduction portion ($70MM)
• Delivered a quick turnaround program to help cut 22% ($220 million)
  at a major commercial mortgage company
• Led $1.5B run rate cut at retail banking division of global
  financial institution

In all of the above cases, Mr Cleary and his team substantially exceeded aggressive goals set by each client within the desired timeframe.

• Mr. Cleary has deep experience in business strategy issues especially Growth Strategies, M&A Integration, Pricing and Competitive Turnaround Strategies, globally (including Japan, Australia, Russia, Mexico and several Western European countries).   In his cost reduction work, he has made sure that strategic priorities of clients were well protected and that cost reductions were neutral or favorable to achieving strategic goals.

• Previously, Mr. Cleary worked at Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company and Mercer Oliver Wyman.

• Mr. Cleary holds a First Class Honours degree in Mathematical Economics and Econometrics from the London School of Economics and an MBA from the University of Chicago, where he was an FMC Scholar.

• At Cleary & Co., Mr. Cleary is responsible for thought leadership on all key levers, especially Organization/Span of Control streamlining, IT Demand Management, Overhead Cost Reduction and Procurement.
